Various clones, soil types and ripeness with several harvest passes. SS, native yeast, co-fermented. This wine is the best value of the bunch for PQR but they are all promising expressions of America turning the screws on Germany’s and Alsace’s Crowns for these varieties for purity of fruit expressions.

#2: 2019 Paetra Riesling ‘Elwetritsche’ (Dry) RESERVE – 96pts

$28/ 98cs/ 12.5% Elwetritsche are mythical beasts that lived in the Haardt Mountains. Homage to the German Pfalz. It’s basically GG USA, ideal temp is chill to 55 then pop and drink as it warms to the 70s. Stunning, complex.

#3: 2019 Paetra Pinot Blanc Coast Range – 92pts

$17/ 120cs/ 11.5% Kisses neutral oak, PB that rivals the great expressions of Alsace and northern Italy. Fat mid-palate that goes electric to make it crisp and clean. A steal at $17!
